LATE WEEK LULL
We will have dry and seasonably cool weather in place today. The day will run partly sunny. Highs will reach the mid and upper 30s this afternoon, then drop to the upper 20s for your Friday night plans.
Saturday will be the warmer day of the weekend. The morning will still be cool though, with wake up temps in the 20s. The mercury will rise well into the 40s in southern New England, likely reaching 50 degrees in some towns in southeastern MA in the afternoon! Clouds will mix with sun at times, but the forecast remains DRY. It'll be breezy too. Gusts 20-30 mph will be common with a few as high as 40 mph.
Winds will be lighter Sunday with temperatures up to 5 degrees cooler (but still more like March than January). Count on a fair amount of sun and highs in the 40s. The Patriots will take on the Jaguars with a kickoff temp close to 45 degrees.
STORM NEXT WEEK
Clouds will build in quickly Monday with warmer, moister air fighting into the region. Cold air may be tough to scour out across northern MA and southern NH. That's where we'll have to watch for a light wintry mix that could cause travel problems-especially Monday night. It will continue to warm as heavy rain moves in Tuesday. An inch of rain is currently forecasted along with highs close to 50 on Tuesday. Any remaining local snow will like get washed away completely, if not already gone by the end of the weekend.
